Tobacco Cessation Centre:

Tobacco is one of the most predominantly abused substance in the world . It is characterized by craving, tolerance, salience and continued use despite harm. Addiction actually develops as a result of Nicotine, which causes a transition from occasional smoking or chewing to a sustained habit. At this stage quitting becomes difficult and the individual falls prey to the deleterious effects associated with long-term exposure to tobacco.

National Tobacco Control Program, the Anti-Tobacco Cell under Government of Karnataka has initiated District tobacco cessation centers, led by Psychologist/Counselor. They will assess the severity of tobacco use, understand concomitant physical and psychological co morbidities, offer personalized management plan and thereby provide quality care.
