District-Level Complaint Mechanism under the POSH Act, 2013
Under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, commonly called the POSH Act. Mandates every organization that has 10 or more employees to formulate an Internal Committee (IC) to receive and Redress complaints of sexual harassment against women at work place.
The Local Complaints Committee (LCC) is formed in district level to ensure protection against sexual harassment for women employees working in organization that have less than 10 employees and also those who working in unorganized sector. Women employees facing any form of sexual harassment at the workplace are encouraged to promptly report the incident to the designated Nodal Officer.
